The Lent journey is moving towards its end and we remember the time that Jesus spent in isolation.
Like us he spent time away from other people and the trappings of everyday life and comfort.
His time of isolation helped him to get a unique perspective on his life and mission.
He was tempted and he overcame, knowing that the things that sustained him were from his father, God.
May we too feel God sustaining us in our isolation and questioning.
May we too learn what mission he is calling us to in our lives.
As I write this, Holy week is about to begin with Palm Sunday.
Although we cannot meet together, there is still a sense of waiting and anticipating,
knowing that it will end not with the misery of the cross
but in the glorious resurrection of our Saviour.
I pray that this Easter may bring us all a revelation of what God did for us, to offer us new life in him.
‘I am the resurrection and the life.
The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
Do you believe this?'
