Revd. Jeanette I have been the local Minister at Michael Parish Church for 5 years.
I came to the Island as a headteacher in 2002 with my Manx born husband Steve.A long-term illness meant an end to my teaching career, but as my health slowly improved, I felt God's calling me to the Anglican priesthood. After training, I was ordained Deacon in 2012, becoming a non-stipendiary curate at St George's in Douglas. I was ordained Priest in 2013 and then moved to Michael Parish Church in 2015, becoming the local Minister here in February 2016. My life's journey has had its ups and downs. It has shown me the constancy of God's love and compassion. Christ knows and understands us in our weakness and gives us strength to carry on. Remember the song from the 'Greatest Showman'? 'But I won't let them break me down to dust. I know that there's a place for us. For we are glorious!' We overcome because of the hope and strength we have in Christ, because of the faithful promises of God. |
