So What is Church About?

The Christian faith teaches that 'Church' is the people who meet together as believers and followers of Jesus Christ,
not the physical building where we meet.

As God's children, we are to be more like a family and not an organisation or club.
We are to learn how to genuinely care for one another and grow in our love for all people,
growing in our closeness and knowledge of God,
sharing and living the good news of Jesus and His message.

Christians believe Jesus came to provide a way for us to re-connect with God and live a renewed life with Him.
This happens when we acknowledge our lives lived without Him, the wrongs we have done
and when we ask for His forgiveness and help to return to Him.
The Holy Spirit comes to help and fill our lives when we genuinely do this
and helps us grow as His followers.

This is confirmed publicly by baptism (as an adult) or confirmation (if already baptized as a child)in the Anglican church.

Incredibly...Jesus gave His life to make this possible, for all our failings...
so we could experience a new life with God with the forgiveness He offers by faith in Him.

The Bible teaches that every family member is essential and valued.
Each one has special, God given gifts and abilities which are needed to work together and function as a family.

This is exciting and sometimes challenging,
(remember...we're a group of very different individuals drawn together in our faith)
so it's challenging, humbling, exposes our failings and levels us all out to show we're all necessary to each other.

Challenging,

but this IS Church!

We'd love to see you. (if  you're up to the challenge!)
